Business Strategy Session

Introduction

A compelling Business Strategy is essential for a growing business. It enables you to focus on the things that will make a difference to your business, and to identify the opportunities to pursue.

The Business Strategy Session is a one day planning session which enables you to take an in-depth look at your current Business Strategy, and to plan for the future. Taking you through a structured process, using worksheets, questionnaires, financial models and other tools, we will help you to clarify your vision and return to your business with renewed enthusiasm.

So that the day can focus on the needs of your business, and so that confidential matters can be discussed, the participants at the Session are limited to the owners of one business. The Session will be held at a Conference Centre which is convenient for your office. By holding the Session "off-site" you are able to put some distance between yourself and the day-to-day demands of your business, making it easier for you to consider new possibilities and see things in a different light.

The day will cover the following topics:

What’s your vision of the future? The first stage is to explore what strategic choices are available for your business, and how they can be used to set your business apart from the competition. These choices are then examined to find the ones that link with your personal definition of success, that your business is capable of achieving, and for which there should be a future marketplace. Based on these strategies we help you to develop a vision of your business in three years time. Having a clear vision of what you want to achieve and the way you want to do it is vital.

Defining your target market and products. We then look in more detail at the products and services you are providing or planning to provide. We identify the most profitable ones, the ones for which there is the largest potential, and look at the costs of introducing new products and services. The implications of this on your financial position is examined, so that you can gauge the impact on your profitability and cash flow.

Where are you now? We start by looking at where the business is now, and the environment in which it operates. A key part of this is identifying your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis). We also examine your current organisational structure, and the structure you will need in the future, we help you to identify inefficient overlaps and gaps in staffing.

How are you going to get there? Having worked out where you are and where you want to go, together we will identify the key changes you need to make to achieve your vision. To gradually implement the changes you'll be helped to prioritise your activities, coming up with a proposed timetable and action plan.

During this one-day session you will be exposed to ideas, tools and techniques you may have never come across before. Therefore, so that you don’t forget what has been covered, you will receive:

 A detailed report on the Business Strategy Session, including all the questionnaires that have been completed, printouts of brainstorming sessions, and financial summaries of your business.

 A summary highlighting the key areas that you have identified as being critical to the future success of your company.

 The goals that you have set for yourself during the session. We will document these for you in an easy-to-read format so that you can constantly refer to them and remind yourself of what you want to achieve and how you are going to do it.

 An implementation plan and timetable – your "roadmap" for the next three years. What seemed daunting at the beginning of the day will now not only be achievable, but within your grasp. You will have a clear idea of where you are going, what needs doing, and critically the enthusiasm and support to get on and do it.

For businesses with a turnover of up to £2 million £1,150 plus VAT per Session

For businesses with a turnover of up to £5 million £1,500 plus VAT per Session
